CEANgal

Overview

Ceangal is an Irish-language word game. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address, contacts, photos, or precise location.

The app uses local storage on your device to remember game progress and preferences. The app may also use Google AdMob for advertising and RevenueCat for purchase and subscription management. The web version may also use Plausible Analytics for privacy-friendly usage metrics.

Data Stored by Ceangal

Ceangal stores a small amount of gameplay information on your device, including:

• current puzzle progress and submitted guesses;
• whether onboarding has been seen;
• whether English translations are enabled;
• which puzzles have been played;
• whether a completed result sheet has been dismissed.

This information is stored locally in your browser or app storage so the game can work as expected. It is not used to identify you.

Website Analytics: Plausible

The Ceangal website may use Plausible Analytics to understand overall usage patterns such as app opens, puzzle starts, puzzle completions, result sharing, and puzzle browser usage.

Plausible is designed to work without cookies and without collecting personally identifiable information. We use it to understand aggregate usage of the site rather than to build advertising profiles or track individual users across websites.

Because this analytics approach is intentionally privacy-friendly and does not rely on cookies or persistent cross-site identifiers, Ceangal does not currently show a separate cookie consent banner for Plausible.

Advertising: Google AdMob

Ceangal may show ads using Google AdMob. Google may collect or receive information from your device, such as device identifiers, approximate location, app activity, ad interactions, and diagnostic information, depending on your device settings, consent choices, and Google’s advertising systems.

Google may use this information to provide personalized or non-personalized ads, measure ad performance, prevent fraud, and maintain ad services. Non-personalized ads are based on contextual information rather than past behavior, but may still use device identifiers for purposes such as frequency capping and aggregated ad reporting.

How to Opt Out of Personalized Ads

You can limit personalized advertising through your device or Google settings:

• On iOS, use Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, or Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising, depending on your iOS version.
• On Android, use Settings → Privacy → Ads, or Google → Ads, depending on your device.

Purchases: RevenueCat

Ceangal may use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases or subscriptions. If you make a purchase, RevenueCat may process purchase information such as product identifiers, entitlement status, transaction history, app user identifiers, and related store receipt data.

Payments are handled by Apple App Store or Google Play. Ceangal and RevenueCat do not receive your full payment card details.

RevenueCat acts as a service provider/data processor for purchase infrastructure. RevenueCat states that apps using RevenueCat should disclose purchase history collection where applicable. You can read more here:

Children

Ceangal is a general-audience word game. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Advertising and purchase providers may apply their own policies and controls.

Retention and Deletion

Local gameplay data remains on your device until you clear browser or app storage, uninstall the app, or reset the app data. Purchase data may be retained by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat according to their own legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, and service requirements.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above.
